Are you sure it isn't Leinbach that you are looking at? (And are you any relation to Norm Crosby? - Sorry, just kidding). I think that Leinbach is a manufacturer of light-duty scraper blades, landscape rakes, etc., but I can't help you out with any information beyond that.

Just a side note on financing - both Deere and Kubota are offering 5.9% at up to 60 months, and I think both are offering no money down also (Kubota definitely, couldn't find it for sure on the Deere website). My guess is that NH is offering a similar deal.

Yeah, that is a little far to drive. Hey, you've probably made the rounds of the web looking for B2150 prices anyway, but I just took a look on ironweb.com. They listed two B2150's - a 1992 w/845 hrs. and a 6' mid-mount mower for $9500 and a 1988 w/2617 hrs. and loader (maybe a disc too) for $11,200. Maybe that helps.

Roger, I'm not sure what is going on with their website right now, but Monroe-Tufline seems to have a good reputation. Their GB1-72 6' blade is 403 lbs, has a 17" high moldboard, offset, tilt, angle, and park stand comes standard. Skid shoes are optional. I'm not sure about the end plates. I requested information from the company awhile back and they came back with an email and some printed information right away. One note about the Woods RBx00 blades too - I think Woods may have discontinued that product line.

David, Okay. I'm not sure what JD model the other person had been talking about, but it must not have been a 4700. I was just trying to get across the fact (or assumption?) that the rear PTO on most compacts will rotate freely with the tractor off and PTO disengaged.

I think the dealer's statements are garbage. If you compare dimensions, horsepower, max. implement sizes, etc., the B-series, TC's, and 4x00 series are strikingly similar. I would be curious to ask him what the specific areas are where the Kubota is under-built in comparison. I have never heard a statement like that even from people who may have an interest in bashing Kubota.

I run my B2410 at 1800-2200 RPM when using the loader. I run it at PTO speed when tilling or finish mowing.

I've never even heard of anyone running a mid-mount and a pull-behind mower at the same time, and I hadn't heard of Acrease before. Is this Acrease Wing mower running off your rear PTO or does it have independent power? If it is running off your rear PTO, why would driving three 5' mowers be any less of a power demand than the batwing?

Sounds like it may be the pressure build-up problem. See the John Deere section of CTB, thread started July 15th called Cannot Attach 430 Hydraulic Hoses. Lots of good information there. There are probably other similar threads in the archives.

My advice would be to not get too wrapped up in the spec. differences. I crunched through the specs. when looking too, but both machines you mention are very close in capability, along with the Kubota B7500 and B2410. At this point you should drive each one and also check out what sort of deal you can get. I looked at the same machines as you are and one of them was my front-runner (on paper), drove them all, talked with the dealers, and ended up buying a B2410 (it has been great). Hit the dealers and put the rigs through their paces - you'll learn a lot that is not on the spec. sheets.

I have a Woods RD6000 that is new this season, and I use it behind a Kubota B2410. I hadn't responded because I am quite a bit behind you - I've probably mowed a total of 20-25 acres worth so far with the Woods. I have not had any problems to date. Some of the mowing has been for a neighbor in a place where the grass was so tall I had no business using a finish mower. It made me a little queasy about the mower, but the tractor and mower both handled it flawlessly. Good luck and hopefully you get some more responses.

Weight of the unit may or may not be a problem. It sounds like Hans has had a problem where he mows with just taking a turn and having the caster wheels catch turf. I could see where that would occur if it was wet enough, but I haven't seen that problem in either of the areas I mow. What I have found is that I need to be careful in changing directions (forward/reverse) or else I may damage the turf. This is because the caster wheels need to rotate 180 degrees and re-orient themselves when you back up - if I try to do this too fast, I can have problems. As far as brands go - hey, there are probably a bunch of them that would work out in a homeowner-type application. I'll take my chances with my (ugh ugh) Woods RD6000.

I've never had this problem, but I've heard that it's best to use some sort of soft metal (like brass) punch to push in the ball in the fitting. This is supposed to relieve the pressure enough allowing you to make the connection.

Agreed, Duane. I think that we must match the equipment to our own conditions and judge for ourselves from there. I moved snow only about 3-4 times last year, since I got my tractor in February, and I used the loader which I know isn't the best way, but things worked out OK for me. I had to chuckle about your comment about nice powdery snow. I live in CT and it seems that from February 1 or so on what we get just about amounts to slush falling from the sky - it is some messy stuff! I also didn't mean to imply that your lawn is a pasture, sorry if I did.

I have a fairly new (20 hrs.) B2410. My uses for it are pretty similar to yours, it sounds like - moving snow in the winter, landscaping, etc. I use mine to finish mow too. I think it would handle clearing the 400' driveway, though I wouldn't want to use just a loader (probably go with a 6' rear blade or 5' blower instead) - that's true of any tractor. The loader has a lift capacity of 770 lb to full height and I've been very happy with how it works.

I think that the B2410 is a pretty good combination of maneuverability and lifting power - sometimes my tractor even seems a little unwieldy in the woods, with a tiller (for ballast) on the back and the loader on the front. Overall I'd recommend it without reservation.

If you 1) don't need to finish mow, 2) are definitely going to get a backhoe, and 3) can afford the $$$, the B2710/B2910 might be a good option. There is a good bit of difference in hydraulic pump output between the B2410 and B2710 and you might really benefit from that with the backhoe. Maybe you can live with a little less maneuverability.

As for the price, it sounds like you are at about 15% off list (tractor + loader), and that is pretty good. Depends a lot on where you live too.

I recently bought a new B2410HSD with loader, finish mower, and tiller. I live in CT and prices here seem to run higher than in other areas of the country. With that said, I believe the price you were quoted is on the high side. For the equipment you mentioned, the price figures to be 7 or 8% off list. 12 to 15% off list would be considered a fair deal, I think.

I'm sorry that you've had such poor experiences with Kubota dealers in CT. In fairness though, I have to point out that I believe they've changed their ways somewhat. I bought a B2410 package last month after a few months research and looking around. The quotes I ended up with were not as good as what I've seen here, but they weren't MSRP (something like 12-15% off list, I would say). Maybe the discount is partly a function of the tractor model and the L48 was particularly hot at the time, but I think some of the older Kubota dealers in the state have been forced to compete a little better with the likes of Carver Equipment and some newer in-state Kubota dealers.

How do you know what and where is a good price
